Following is a list of attractions in the cities of Farmington, Rosemount and Apple Valley.
Farmington
Dakota County Fairgrounds – The sprawling acreage of the Dakota County Fairgrounds on Farmington’ s southern edge is home to more than just the Dakota County Fair. The site has also been the venue for other events, such as car shows, concerts and more. Dakota City Heritage Village – Dakota City Heritage Village offers visitors the chance to experience rural life in 1900-era Dakota County. It offers special events with costumed interpreters and demonstrations. The village and museum are open for educational programs, senior groups, and tours by reservation. Vermillion River – The Vermillion River has long been recognized as one of the best places for trout fishing in central Minnesota. The city of Farmington provides public access within Rambling River Park. The trout stream portion begins above Cedar Avenue and ends downstream of the Highway 52 bridge. Rosemount
Central Park Splash Pad – This aquatic park that has little or no standing water opened in July 2014. It has a variety of ground nozzles that spray water upward and a moving water feature that turn on by hand for a limited time. It is open seasonally from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. at 2893 145th St. W. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation office at 651-322-6000.
Irish Sports Dome – Open since January 2005 at 13901 S. Robert Trail, the dome has more than 100,000-square-feet of space for soccer, lacrosse, softball, batting cages and sports training. The city-owned and-operated Steeple Center is available for weddings, meetings, parties and performances at
