Monitor construction and impacts of the U . S . 1 Bridge . On December 31 , FDOT opened one lane on the reconstructed bridge in each direction . The second lane in each direction is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2025 , and the project is expected to be completed in early 2026 .
The Town works closely with FDOT staff to monitor the progress of the construction . FDOT staff continue to participate in the Town ' s Connect with Council events and hold regular resident events to answer questions and hear concerns from residents . The Town provides updates on these events and on construction impacts on area businesses , residents , and traffic on its social media outlets , website , and email list .
The Town hosted the Back to the Inlet Music Fest in November to help businesses affected by the bridge ' s closure . The Town ' s Business Community Liaison continues to assist these businesses through regular meetings and outreach .
Advance South Island Way . The town received a survey of the proposed South Island Way expansion in December . The Town continues to pursue acquisitions for the project ' s right-of-way and is working on a design for the expansion .
The West Indiantown Road project continues . FDOT has installed a new traffic signal at the off-ramp to I-95 northbound and opened a fourth lane of traffic on eastbound Indiantown Road . FDOT and the Town have also co-funded a project to expand Western Indiantown Road to Chasewood Plaza . At the Town ' s urging , FDOT is performing a study on improvements to the intersection of Central Boulevard and West Indiantown Road .
