MWAA Cares in Action : Ballou High School Visits DCA for CTE Month
In celebration of Career and Technical Education ( CTE ) Month , the Airports Authority ’ s Social Impact team hosted 25 students from Ballou High School . CTE Month is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate CTE , the accomplishments of CTE programs and the importance of CTE for all students of all ages .
During the visit , Ballou ’ s Automotive Service and Repair CTE students received a firsthand look at Reagan National Airport ' s diverse range of workshops . The students toured various departments including the paint / signage , metal , heavy equipment , and structures shops , as well as the parts and electrical departments .
The students ended the day with a “ Chat and Chew ,” where they had the opportunity to network and engage in conversation with members of the Airports Authority ’ s social impact and fleet management teams , as well as graduates of the apprentice program .
