Creating Opportunities for Success : MWAA in Your Community
On Thursday , March 23rd , MWAA hosted a “ Doing Business with MWAA ” event in partnership with the Washington Area Community Investment Fund at the Anacostia Center . The purpose of this event was to show MWAA ’ s commitment to building and maintaining a community of diverse suppliers to promote regional economic development and enhance the passenger experience . Over 50 small business owners in attendance received updates on small business opportunity-related topics such as how to become certified as Small Local Business Enterprise ( SLBE ) and understanding the MWAA procurement process as well as long-term capital improvement and concession construction opportunities at the airports .
