( Beat . Alex sighs .) God , I miss you . I miss hearing your voice . I miss talking to you . I miss just being around you . I don ’ t think you understand what I would do for just one . more . moment . I just need you here with me .
( As Alex is speaking , Mom walks into the setting . She is in no rush and she ’ s smiling . She goes to sit down next to Alex . He doesn ’ t notice her . She then puts her hand on top of his . He turns over to her and finally sees her . He is shocked to say the least .)

ALEX Mom . It ’ s you . You ’ re here . Why ? Why are you-
( Interrupting him .)
MOM It ’ s going to be okay . Everything is going to be okay .
ALEX Okay well , what does this mean ? Why are you here now ?
