Impactful Grant Making
Our Strategic Plan for 2021-2025 commits to raising and allocating $ 80M $ 200M to new conservation projects over the five-year period . This commitment launched both our
$ 60M grantmaking and project fundraising to new levels and allowed us to dramatically expand our impact . Our $ 40M growth rates have varied from year to year , including a spike in fundraising in 2021 when we received a large multiyear grant , and a dip in grantmaking
$ 20M in 2023 as we continue to calibrate our grantmaking to more closely match our fundraising . We remain ahead of our annual financial targets to achieve this ambitious plan and are eager to continue expanding our impact . 2023 represented another large portoflio of conservation projects around the world , with over $ 46M in new projects approved and $ 39M in generous contributions towards our strategic plan .
Our Revenue
During 2023 , Rainforest Trust received over $ 46.6M in revenue , primarily from individual contributions and family foundations , to support our conservation work across the globe . Most donors contribute either to specific projects or to flexible funds that are allocated to various conservation strategies . New for 2023 , we launched a conservative portfolio of fixed income investments that is serving as a diversified revenue source for operations and project needs .
