Committed Colleagues
Each month , we publish our Sustainability Snapshot poster in all our offices , which includes market stories , noteworthy news , fast facts and a committed colleague bio . These individuals exemplify our sustainability goals at work and at home and serve as a vital component to our sustainability program . Just a few of our committed colleagues are highlighted below :
Leslie M . “ Working with the Sustainability Coordinator Network has allowed me to create a greater impact by helping promote sustainability and resources that make it easy and beneficial for people to take control of their environmental footprint . I appreciate collaborating with colleagues who share similar values across TRC . Locally , my counterpart and I organize events and opportunities to promote a culture of caring with sustainability at its core . Our goal with these events is to help create a community within TRC .”
Sarah B . “ As an avid amateur mycologist , SCUBA diver , and beekeeper contributing to TRC ’ s Sustainability Network is intrinsic and motivating ! My colleagues and fellow sustainability coordinators do not cease to inspire , educate , and encourage us all to do our best with sustainability in mind . Through our annual “ Earth Day challenges ”, I ’ ve organized local stream restoration events – planting native flora with coworkers along some of our streams and salmon spawning grounds that have suffered due to development . It ’ s been a blast to get out under the sun with each other , put in some physical labor , and then step back and be proud of the improvements we ’ ve made in our local ecosystems !”
Mike R . “ During my 20 + years with TRC , I have been able to contribute to TRC ’ s corporate sustainability program as well as our clients ’ programs . TRC has carefully considered what real change means for the company and for our clients ’ futures . As our clients request sustainability-oriented services , we do our research and provide meaningful input , defensible data , and sound strategy to help them on their journey .”
Hewson S . “ I am currently working in distributed energy and I love thinking about how our work benefits the environment . For example , working on distribution pole loading calcs in California will help reduce the risk of catastrophic fires . There are so many ways you can be involved in environmental efforts across TRC . I serve in our network of office sustainability coordinators ; attended our company-wide Climate Conversations webinar series ; and am currently participating in a Climate Resilience Academy . I am proud that TRC successfully incorporates sustainable practices into everything we do .”
