TRC ’ s Health and Safety Management System is administered and maintained by our Corporate Safety Team . In addition to our Corporate Safety Team , TRC has developed a network of over 90 OSCs that provide safety support to each TRC office and field teams .
Hazard Recognition and Risk Mitigation – TRC ’ s Health and Safety Management System includes specific processes , which include our project specific Health and Safety Plan ( HASP ) and the daily Job Hazard Analysis ( JHA ), for identifying workplace hazards and the precautions necessary minimize the risk of injury .
Safety Observations – TRC ’ s safety observation program is an essential part of our Health and Safety Management System . Observations are conducted on TRC and subcontractor employees on a regular basis and are task specific . The task observation criteria are based on the site-specific HASP .
Observations are performed using TRC ’ s Safety App and data is collected and trended similar to our Safe Catch reports . We have seen tremendous success and a positive shift in our safety culture through our observations process . Observations not only provide us the opportunity to identify unsafe acts and conditions but allow us to recognize employees who are effective in managing safety and promote their behavior through our Safety Recognition Program . Additionally , through the observation process , we have identified best practices for tasks that are now the standard operating procedure . for a subcontractor who does not meet minimum requirements , which would allow them to continue to perform work . Some aspects of a mitigation plan could include additional safety requirements ( observations , staffing , etc .). Mentoring and training may also be offered by TRC .
Incident Response and Lessons Learned – Detailed in Section CP019 is a program designed to help TRC employees understand how to respond to safety incidents , which includes prompt medical evaluation , incident investigation , and communication of lessons learned to reduce the risk of recurrence . This program also communicates practical solutions to improve behavior and mitigate safety hazards to employees involved in that type of task or the entire company .
TRC ’ s medical management process is vital to provide employees with appropriate care during work related incidents . TRC has partnered with a thirdparty telephonic healthcare provider to help provide medical guidance for first aid type injuries , or to instruct employees to an occupational clinic for evaluation if necessary .
Subcontractor Management – TRC has developed a detailed process for Subcontractor Management and has contracted with an internet-based contractor management program to assist us with safety prequalification and monitoring . Subcontractors must update their information annually at a minimum . If the subcontractor ’ s information does not meet the minimum requirements set forth by TRC and / or our client , we will meet with the subcontractor in order to gain a better understanding of the issues and corrective actions that have been developed . With client approval , TRC may develop a mitigation plan
