Climate Governance Roles and Responsibilities
■ Board of Directors : provides oversight for climaterelated risks and opportunities . Directors bring strong industry expertise to advise on TRC ’ s energy transition strategy .
■ Chairman and CEO : oversees the evaluation of market risks and opportunities ; sets strategic direction for the company via 5-year strategy planning process ; oversees TRC ’ s sustainability program and its integration through our business processes and service offerings .
■ ESG Steering Committee : guides TRC ’ s ESG and Climate Solutions strategy . Cross-functional SteerCo members include the CEO , senior leadership from Business Development , ESG and Climate Advisory Platform , Human Resources , Finance , Digital , Marketing and Communications , and VP Corporate ESG / Sustainability .
■ ESG and Climate Advisory Platform : Cross-sector collaboration to drive growth in climate solutions across market sectors
■ VP Corporate ESG and Sustainability : assesses and communicates climate-related risks / opportunities to the CRO and ESG SteerCo ; implements programs to advance climate-related commitments ; monitors performance against those commitments ; reports through public frameworks / standards ( e . g ., CDP , TCFD and GRI ). Member of ESG Steering Committee .
■ Chief Risk Officer ( CRO ): responsible for corporate risk assessment and management processes ; oversees ESG / sustainability disclosures ; member of the Crisis Management Committee .
■ Crisis Management Committee : responsible for the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery ( BCDR ) planning and implementation process , which includes , among other things , coordinating the risk assessment and management of physical risks and natural hazards posed by climate change ( e . g ., hurricanes , flooding , etc .) at our 160 office locations . Led by SVP National Safety Director .
■ Sector Presidents , Chief Growth Officers , and National Business Development team : review and provide input into the Strategic Plan to reflect the broad business risk landscape .
■ SVP Procurement : integrates climate-related considerations throughout our supply chain and optimizes real estate and fleet in support of our Net Zero goals .
