It ’ s hard to believe that summer has come and gone , and that fall is already upon us . We had a great summer here at the club and we are looking forward to wonderful fall .
We have some great events coming up and we look forward to seeing you all on the course . If you have any questions , please do not hesitate to contact the Golf Shop .
Saturday / Sunday , September 24-25 will be our Men ’ s Club Championship . Different flights have been created to accommodate different playing levels . Only the Championship Blue Tee division will play both days . All other flights will play on Saturday only .
The Men ’ s Association Thursday Evening 9-hole group will continue to play into September . Please Note , starting time moves to 5:00 pm this month and continues through September . This is a two person event , so if you don ’ t have a partner , let the golf shop know and we can help to pair you up .
September is a busy month for Private Outings , and tee times will be limited during these events . In order to avoid conflicts please call the golf shop for tee times . We also have the College Athletes playing in the afternoons , making certain hours in the afternoon more challenging than others . Thank you all in advance for your support , having these outings is not only great for revenue for the Club but is also wonderful exposure for the Club .
Rage Balls Needed ! Have any old white golf balls laying around ? Thanks to Tim Hand , “ cart attendant extraordinaire ”, we now have a range ball striping machine . Please donate your used white balls to the golf shop . Range balls are at a premium right now and on an eight month back order , so your donation will help during our busy fall season .
Our Fall junior clinics have begun , we meet every Tuesdays at 4:30 for the younger age group ( ages 6-10 ); and at 5:30 for the older group . We are really looking forward to building this program and hope to see more Junior Golf participants .
We have some new faces in the golf shop , Ben and Russell have joined the LGCC Team . Ben Hugee will be in the cart barn , he is a retired police officer who recently moved to the area from Raleigh . Russell Banz is form Utah , and he is excited to be in Virginia . He will be working inside and outside operations and will be assisting with the SVU golf teams . Please stop by the golf shop to say hello and introduce yourselves to them .
See you on the Course !
