NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Please welcome Tim Burkhart to the LGCC family . Tim is already on the job and busy getting to know members and staff . He is full of energy and excited about moving LGCC forward . As stated by Chip Harris , Regional Director of Operations of Indigo Sports , “ Tim is a Class A PGA Member with over 27 years experience , spending the last 15 years in the General Manager role for private clubs . He comes to Lexington from a private 400 member facility in Pennfield , NY . We know that Tim ’ s well-rounded experience will do remarkable things for Indigo Sports and Lexington Golf and Country Club ”. Tim is married , has two sons , Nathan 12 and Matthew , 15 . His wife , Lisa , and sons have not yet joined him in Lexington but will do so soon .
Tim graduated from Alfred University with a BA in Business . He played semi pro basketball for three years in Sydney , Australia . After returning to the U . S . he joined the Harlem Globetrotters and played nine years before joining the Washington Generals as player coach , traveling all over the world nine months a year . He was with the Washington Generals for nine years . His hobbies include basketball , raising his boys and ESPN .
Jack Bovay , LGCC Club President , stated “ The Board enthusiastically welcomes Tim to LGCC . He exudes passion and leadership and has hit the ground running . Please introduce yourself to Tim next time you are at the club .”
A special thanks to Jake Valentino , Golf Superintendent , for stepping in as Acting General Manager while awaiting Tim ’ s arrival . We appreciate Jake holding down two jobs for the past couple months .
