TOURNAMENT RESULTS : Our organized tournament calendar is over , but we have found some new momentum in some informal and impromptu 9-hole get-togethers . We are using a fun format called Pinehurst Scotch in a 2-person format . On December 16 we had 16 participants and on Dec 23 we had 28 participants . If you are interested in these weather dependent events , please call the golf shop to get on the list .
UPCOMING EVENTS : The annual Mad Hatter New Year ’ s Day Captain ’ s Choice is back , weather dependent , with a 10:50 shotgun start .
HOLIDAY SPECIALS : The December 10th Member Cocktail Party with a golf open house was well received . The golf shop was hopping with special sales , dart toss discounts and plenty of Holiday Cheer . Thank you , Judy Werner and Bev Burks , for donating your decorating skills and for helping with the Party / gift-buying and wrapping .
HANDICAP CHANGE : I have contacted an organization called Handicomp to come in and offer an option to our members regarding handicapping . Jeff and I have both used Handicomp in the past at other facilities . For most of our members this will be a very similar setup and save the club and the members money . The VSGA handicap will still be available . Choose the VSGA option if you intend to play in any VSGA events . You will see more about this soon as we changeover after the first of the year .
The off-season is the best time to prepare for 2022 with new grips . Many options available , contact the proshop and start playing better golf !
Callaway fitting day is scheduled for Saturday , April 2 . You will need to make a reservation for a time slot . Call now if you are interested . Slots fill up fast .
Scott is joining Cleveland / Srixon staff this winter so this line will also be more prevalent in the shop . Great wedges , many ball options , Srixon irons and woods .
