This past year has been difficult for Cliff Easum , General Manager , and staff . Covid created a national shortage of employees , however , Cliff , Preston , Susan , Deborah and Betty Jo kept the club ’ s administrative and food and beverage services running . Jack is very appreciative of the work they have done . Our golf course is in outstanding condition thanks to the work of Jake Valentino and his ground crew . Scott Frasier , Golf Pro , is making an impressive contribution to building youth golf at LGCC . We are so fortunate to have these employees .
Jack is excited about 2022 . He brings prior experience as President of a Country Club having served as President of the Gainesville Country Club in Gainesville , Florida , at the age of 37 . He describes LGCC ’ s Board of Directors as a group of twelve talented individuals with a broad cross set of age , background , and interests . Jack identified multiple club initiatives for 2022 , some of which are listed below :
Transparency - keep members up-to-date and knowledgeable . Improve the club ’ s financial status . Increase membership fees to combat inflation and operational costs . Increase food minimums to include alcohol charges . Add twenty-five net new members . Premier Event Weekends - The club will sponsor four major club event weekends during 2022 with activities for everyone , not just golfers . These weekend events will include games , golf , pool activities , pickleball and tennis throughout the weekend . Make capital improvements to the pool , expand food and beverage services , and add a “ pick up food and beverage service ” at the gate for golfers making the turn at the 9th hole .
2022 is going to be a great year at LGCC . Jack encourages members and guests to “ Come eat , come play , fix a ball mark , refer a new member . We are all in this together .”
