TURKEY BOWL CHALLENGE
Every year since November 2016 , alumni of Fordham Prep met rival Xavier High School alumni in the Turkey Bowl Challenge . The winning school is announced during the Turkey Bowl football event on Thanksgiving Day . or the first time since
F 2016 , Fordham Prep won the Turkey Bowl Challenge ( TBC ), an annual contest with Xavier High School to see who can generate the most young alumni donors in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Day and the annual Turkey Bowl .
The challenge ’ s hyperfocus on engagement from alumni of the last 19 years achieved support from 438 young alumni donors . The group raised over $ 22k , which will help to support financial aid and other Prep initiatives .
For McKenna , fundraising events such as the TBC encourage support for the future of the Prep while also paying tribute to the alumni who gave back during their time as students at the school .
“ It ’ s not a lot of incremental work on my plate to give back and could mean a lot to either a potential or current student at Fordham Prep ,” said McKenna . n

“ I love the idea of the Turkey Bowl Challenge , where the focus is on the percentage [ of young alumni ] participation instead of dollars raised . I think that allows everyone to kind of get their skin in the game ,” said Ken McKenna ’ 07 .
McKenna ’ s desire to stay engaged with the Prep community led him to send out text messages and help draft emails to young alumni about the TBC alongside his longtime friend , JP Feighery ’ 03 ( Director of Alumni Engagement ), and Ryan Fink ’ 10 ( Assistant Director for Development and Data Analysis ). Feighery and Fink help spearhead the TBC at Fordham Prep .
