One of the Core Labs is home to the supercomputer , Shaheen II , ranked among the top 100 most powerful supercomputers in the world . In 2023 , we will welcome the completed installation of Shaheen III , set to be 20 times faster than its predecessor , and the most powerful supercomputer in the Middle East , a vital asset in addressing critical areas that have a societal and environmental impact . Part of KAUST ’ s mission is to serve as a catalyst for knowledge and innovation across industry and academia in Saudi Arabia . The KAUST Research & Technology Park hosts the Kingdom ’ s leading corporations such as Saudi Aramco and SABIC , as well as prominent international corporations like the Dow Chemical Company and Boeing . An entrepreneurial mindset and culture is fostered among our students , researchers and the larger community through a broad variety of classes , events and accelerator programs that support early-stage startup teams to explore , test and build their business ideas .
In education , research and innovation , KAUST is making a difference both locally and globally . But our most valuable contribution to the Kingdom and the world is our graduates . They are our future leaders , scholars , innovators and business owners who will make a lasting impact .
