The Stars ’ Song

A strum of the ukulele and a melody that emanated from Matt ’ s mouth narrated a story . Their story . The song began .
“ When stars align I want to be with you till the end of time .”
Rav and Maxxine were a cute couple . Though society deemed the couple to be too old for shenanigans on the play structure , the two seemed to be in careless bliss , the pale , early August moonlight tickling their skin as Lucy and I watched them from afar .
“ I hope you two break up !” Lucy half yelled at them , chaff dripping from her words .
“ You wish , Luu ! You ’ re just jealous ,” Rav jeered back , giggling with Maxxine .
“ As if ,” Lucy replied with a laugh and a smile that never reached her eyes . Although Lucy repudiated it , I knew that some part of her yearned for a relationship of her own .
The stars grinned down at Lucy like the Cheshire cat as Maxxine reassured , “ Don ’ t
worry , Luu . When the stars align , it ’ ll finally be your turn .”
“ Blueshift to me , come closer Ultraviolet radiation type beat .”
“ Soulmates ?” I marveled at my cousin , Matt , as we were on facetime two months later .
“ Yes , I know it sounds weird but I feel like we ’ re perfect for each other . We compliment
each other so well . She ’ s an introvert . I ’ m an extrovert . She ’ s a Pisces . I ’ m a Taurus . I searched it up , and it said that we are a well-balanced pair , something I can confirm ,” Matt babbled in a lovesick way .
