Stephen published his first book , Drawings in 1987 , a volume of his early sketches .
In 2001 , Wiltshire was in a BBC documentary , Fragments of Genius , and he was recorded flying over London aboard a helicopter and afterwards completing a detailed and perfectly scaled aerial illustration within three hours . The drawing contained 12 historic landmarks and 200 other structures . In 2006 , Stephen Wiltshire founded his own permanent Art Gallery in London ’ s Royal Opera Arcade . Later on , moved his location to West London in 2019 .
