MRS . KNOWLTON A . REYNDERS of Newbury , New Hampshire continues the Norwich / Norfolk Terriers breeding line that her mother , Mrs . John Ewing , developed in 1949 . She started showing her own Norwich in 1983 . Mrs . Reynders steered 34 Norwich Terriers to their championships with 20 finishing from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class . She bred GCH Highwood ’ s Whirling Dun who won Best of Breed at the Budapest World Dog Show , the Norwich Club of America National Specialty , and the Montgomery County Kennel Club show . Mrs . Reynders began judging Norwich and Norfolk terriers in the late 1990 ’ s . She is approved to judge the Terrier group , several Hound breeds , Junior Showmanship , and Best in Show . This will be her second assignment at Westminster .
MRS . JAN SWAYZE-CURRY of Columbia , Kentucky was born into the pure-bred dog family of Louis and Peggy Swayze , who started Longlesson Kennel in the late 1940s . Her parents bred over 75 champion Afghan Hounds and Dachshunds . Mrs . Swayze-Curry became an assistant to all-breed handlers Houston and Toddie Clark in 1968 which would lead to her own professional dog handling career specializing in hound breeds . She has finished more than 50 Afghan Hounds and has personally bred more than 100 Whippet champions . As a professional handler , she finished more than 200 dogs for other breeders and owners . The Longlession Kennel heritage continues with Mrs . Swayze-Curry and her daughter , Graham Swayze-Miller , who followed her mother ’ s lead to become a successful professional handler . She is approved to judge Afghan Hounds , Borzoi , Dachshunds , Pharaoh Hounds , Whippets , and Junior Showmanship .
This is her first judging assignment at Westminster .
MR . HAROLD TATRO III of Crowley , Texas started in obedience with a Doberman Pinscher before acquiring Lakeland Terriers . A breeder , owner , handler of several best in show , specialty , and group winners , his involvement in Whippets began after he met his wife Denise in 1986 . They bred , owned , and handled several multiple group and specialty winners . He serves as the U . S . Lakeland Terrier Club Judge ’ s Education Coordinator . Mr . Tatro judges the Hound and Terrier groups , Junior Showmanship , and Best in Show . He has judged Whippet and Lakeland Terrier national and regional specialties and at Montgomery County Kennel Club . He has judged in Australia , Hong Kong , South Korea , Italy , and Sweden . This is his first judging assignment at Westminster .
MS . BONNIE P . THRELFALL of Cary , North Carolina grew up showing her father ’ s Labrador Retrievers in Conformation , Obedience , and Junior Showmanship . She owned an Irish Water Spaniel — the great-grandmother of Irishtocrat , Westminster 1979 Best in Show winner . She has bred English Cocker Spaniels since 1969 under the Edgewood prefix and was an assistant handler to Robert and Jane Forsyth before becoming a professional handler . Mrs . Threlfall judges the Sporting and Hound groups , 15 breeds across five groups , and Best in Show . She has judged five national specialties , an FCI show in Sweden , and awarded championship certificates to her breed in England . She judged the Westminster Sporting Group in 2016 . This is her fourth Westminster judging assignment .
MR . MARK E . THRELFALL of Merrimack , New Hampshire started an after-school job that evolved into a lifelong career in dogs . As a young man , he worked for top professional handlers such as Bill Trainor and Jane and Bob Forsyth . He later set out on his own successful professional handling career . Mr . Threlfall handled many top winners , winning Bests in Show on dogs from all seven variety groups . Mr . Threlfall piloted Ch . Salilyn ' s Condor , an English Springer Spaniel , to top dog all breeds in 1992 , and to Best in Show at Westminster in 1993 . He is approved to judge numerous Working , Terrier , Toy , Non-Sporting , and Herding breeds , and Best in Show . This is his second Westminster assignment .
