This is the most beautiful spring I can remember . What I see on my walks has survived the ice storm . Seeds
WIESENTHAL that were planted have sprung up , bulbs have come to life and leaves have grown . The experts tell us that seeds should be pre-soaked , seedlings should be pre-watered and after transplanting must be watered generously . The soil should be good and full of fertilizer . This is a new year and a new life for all we see . Wonders are produced with water

, the soil in the earth and the sun .
The earth has gone around the sun more times in my life than I admit . I have had many birthdays and just as many birthday parties . I love my birthday because I feel like a special person on that day .
But there are children living in foster care who have never had a birthday party and some don ’ t even know when their birthday is . They are growing up like seeds not having the soil in which to grow well and not having the love that waters their lives . These are children who have never even had the care that we give our plants .
However , when they come to Boys & Girls Aid things change . One thing that happens at Boys & Girls Aid is that the children are given birthday parties , for many of them the first time in their lives .
Let me tell you about one of these lucky children . His name is Jason . When this boy was told he would have a birthday party he jumped for joy . This would be his 6th birthday but his first birthday party . Now Jason

was nuts about Spider Man . An agency board member wanted to give Jason the gift of a lifetime . So Spider Man came to the party . When the boy saw him he immediately went to his back pack , took off all his clothes and put on his own Spider Man costume . As you can see from the picture , not only Jason but all the staff members were excited about this party . What a party they had ! Since that time , Jason will never forget his very first birthday party .
There are many children out there , who like this 6 year old , have never had a birthday party and have never felt special , even for one day . However , those who are cared for by Boys & Girls Aid find their lives transformed . They are watered with love and fertilized with good care and birthday parties .
