The golf group welcomes many new members
Our two Welcome Back Coffees were a huge success . So good seeing 100 members attending and looking forward to starting
FIEWEGER our 2021 season .
Thanks to chair Lindy Anderson and the many social members who supported the events .
Maureen Larsen , chair of the Wilsonville High School Girls Golf Committee , presented Chris Bensel , Charbonneau head pro and coach for the girls , a check for $ 550 ! Thanks to all Niners who contributed to this fund . The golf team will be receiving a beautiful WHS girls golf bag . They are returned at the end of the season . Last year , our donations were used for WHS girls golf team jackets and team shirts . You can make a donation at any time , just talk with Maureen .
Joanna Sawyer gave an update on
our Niner ’ s annual performance “ Queens of Music ” featuring female artists . You will hear Dolly Parton , Cindy Lauper , Barbra Streisand , Madonna , Dianna Ross , Whitney Houston , Cher , Judy Garland and many more ! Be sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday , Sept . 28 , for our end of the year banquet and performance . We perform for the public Friday , Oct . 1 , and for friends and family , Saturday , Oct . 2 . The Charbonnettes and performers range in age from 68 to 84 !
New member orientation , chaired by Carole Lukas , was another great event ! We have 22 new members for our 2021 season . They shared their golf history ( ranging from just starting to already has a hole-in-one ).
Golf Genius software began pairing us for play date Tuesday , April 20 .
We are all learning the format with support from the Scoring Committee , which consists of Karen Siegel , Karla Colby , Kim Warram , Rose Mills and Beth Martin . Both CWGA and the Niners have joined the Men ’ s Club in utilizing Golf Genius . With so many new members , this helps us mix our pairing to get to know each other .
Karen Giardina thanks everyone for being a big sister to our new members . It ’ s especially important this year with all the new rules .
