Pamplin sees Charbonneau residents as an integral part of their commitment to local news and local communities . In our unique relationship , CCC provides most of the content and Pamplin receives the advertising revenue . According to CCC General Manager Jim Meierotto , the partnership saves CCC over $ 30,000 per year in printing and mailing costs .
Clara Howell , Villager editor for Pamplin , works very closely with staff as well as with the various clubs and organizations in putting the Villager together every month . Pamplin has been very cooperative and flexible when we needed extra time to get an article into the paper and we owe that to Clara ’ s patience and professionalism .
Pamplin reprints important stories of interest from the Wilsonville Spokesman , our local hometown paper . Brian pointed out the importance of keeping informed about local and regional events and strongly urged Charbonneau residents to consider subscribing to the Spokesman either in print or online . The cost for a year ’ s service is only $ 41 and includes

both print and digital access .
Board action
At the April 6 meeting , the CCC Board voted to delay the Paddle Club project to a future date . Directors were concerned about both budget and staff resources .
Although the boathouse storage and paddle club will not be available this summer , we are continuing to move forward with several projects that are a part of the overall plan . Actions being considered include renting the boat house for a two-year term for additional revenue , installing a security system at the marina , scheduling the marina parking lot improvements and confirming insurance requirements .
We appreciate the incredible work that our staff has been doing during these challenging times . Now , with the personnel changes that have taken place in the last three months , it is even more challenging . The ice storm and aftermath have taken many staff hours to navigate , with amazing results . Directives from the CDC regarding COVID-19 are very fluid ,

with changes almost weekly . As we move into the summer months , we will require even more time to digest the information and integrate them into policies .
We budgeted contingencies for the construction of the Activity Center but won ’ t realize true costs until work actually begins . Planning and budgeting has already begun on the remodeling of the clubhouse into our Event Center . This includes preliminary discussions with the Golf Course and OB Sports on the management of the proposed restaurant . In addition , the Pavilion has required some additional funding ( and staff time ) as part of our agreement with CGC . This includes enhanced security , internet , audio / visual and unexpected requirements for the kitchen venting system .
We are writing new policies for clubhouse use under the CDC guidelines for vaccinated people . Updated policies for the swimming pools are being drafted as we begin to get into the summer months . Construction of the Activity Center was pushed back
