GOLDEN FLASH ASSET MANAGEMENT GROUP ( GFAM )

The Golden Flash Asset Management Group ( GFAM ) competed virtually in the Quinnipiac University GAME Forum in spring 2020 , taking third place in both the Undergraduate Fixed Income Portfolio and the Undergraduate Small Fund Portfolio categories . Kent State was the only university to place in two categories .
“ We continue to provide a risk-adjusted return on our portfolios that is quite good when compared to the market ,” said Steven Dennis , Ph . D ., chair of the Department of Finance . “ The overall educational value of allowing students to manage real assets is priceless .”
David Pelleg , finance lecturer and a faculty leader of GFAM , said this year ’ s GAME Forum team was one of the most effective he has seen during his career .
“ They worked as a real team during the GAME competition . Each student did their share of the work , and I think that really showed during the formal presentation where each member both presented and fielded questions ,” Pelleg said .
“ I can confidently say that I can manage money because I have had the experience of doing so during my undergraduate degree at Kent State . I have grown personally and professionally from being involved in the Golden Flash Asset Management group .”
