Although the action is different in both photographs the frame is the same . Making practical changes to homes can make them more habitable and potentially more costeffective / efficient – due to decreased reliance on / need to buy energy from the national grid . The image also seems to encourage investment in the ‘ training ’ and ‘ reskilling ’ ( Greenpeace , 2019 ; p . 23 ) of specialised tradespeople to perform the installation , which in turns conveys notions of employment and a skilled workforce ; two concepts ’ governments are often positive towards ; and confirms that environmental problems are often seen as less legitimate unless paired with as social , economic , and political solutions ( Doyle , 2007 ). Resultingly , the images could represent both aspirational and action led frames , as well as informational , through generating awareness of what can be done in everyday life alongside advocating for more substantial policy changes ( Seelig , 2015 ).

Action is also shown in fig . 5 and 6 , through the image acts of tradespeople installing sustainable materials into / onto domestic homes ( solar panels / loft insulation ), conveying the message that sustainability should be implemented on the common , as well as the national level through the connection to the domestic ; thereby making it proximate to peoples lived experiences ( Shih and Lin , 2017 ). The action is the focus of both images as the audience ’ s eye is drawn there . In fig . 5 this is because it dominates the frame , and in fig . 6 the man preforming the action is centrally placed , and brightly dressed , in contrast with the rest of the image .

Another common theme is community , shown most explicitly in fig . 7 . Here a community have come together to install solar panels . The image features many panels , and a diverse group of people posing by them . They range in age / gender / race , but have come together to accomplish this task . Their proximity to each other suggests solidarity , while their joyful expressions and outstretched arms suggest a
