What is Merciful Sound ?
Liverpool is known across the world for having a rich and diverse culture - particularly within the music scene . From grassroots , to the top of the charts , Liverpool serves as a holy ground for musos and artists alike , uniting fanatics and performers on the colourful streets of Merseyside . Like the other residents of this lively city , Merciful Sound is united by the love for music and a sense of togetherness . In the second year of its life , Merciful Sound has searched for the right acts to create four single releases , alongside live performance videos from all four acts . Comprised of students of Liverpool University , our record label supports and nurtures the growth of grassroots music , promising to help local acts bloom and emerge into the scene with distinctive style .
Ed Morris
Ed is a 21-year-old Hip-Hop rapper / producer currently based in Liverpool . Born and raised in the South of London , this talented lyricist has been influenced by artists such as Loyle Carner , and J Cole . His previous EPs on streaming services initially caught the attention of Merciful Sound ; from smooth soul sampled instrumentals with catchy hooks , to aggressive fast-paced tracks with hard-hitting rap verses , Morris delivers entertaining music that displays a variation of ideas . Each release expresses his unique deliverance and high-quality production , with lyrical content that offers meaning by diving into his personal life .
Ed Beaumont
A 22-year-old singer / songwriter from Southeast London who enjoys playing psychedelic and alternative folk music . Some of Ed ’ s main inspirations include Jeff Buckley , Neil Young and Nick Drake . Ed has a wide interest and knowledge for a variation of musical instruments which includes playing piano for 15 years , guitar for 12 years , drums for 8 years , and singing every day for most of his life . Ed believes that his enjoyment for music has come from his family being very enthusiastic about music despite them never having music lessons .
Amelia Wallace
Amelia Wallace is a Liverpool-based singersongwriter , fusing pop and soul with influences of rock . Her music tells a raw , passionate story of identity , love and authenticity delivered through her thought-provoking lyrics and unique voice . Amelia draws influence from many different genres and artists , as well as through her own life and experiences growing up in Birmingham and moving to Liverpool .
