Conference Safety and Security
AWWA works closely with the hotel to provide a safe
environment during our Utility Management Conference,
but your help is also needed. AWWA recommends that
you read the following safety guidelines: In case of an emergency, the Renaissance Nashville Hotel
has emergency procedures in place for everyone’s safety.
1. Be aware of your surroundings.
Keep an eye on your personal belongings at all times
and use good judgment when talking to strangers. If
someone near you is acting suspiciously or if you feel
uncomfortable, leave the area immediately and notify
AWWA or hotel staff. • The Renaissance has an emergency team available 24
hours a day, seven days a week, with at least three
officers on each shift.
2. Know how to handle an emergency.
Be aware of the nearest exits and know the emergency
plan at your hotel. Agree on a place to meet up with a
colleague in the event of an evacuation.
• The Renaissance internal emergency number is 3030
from any house phone.
• All of the officers at the Renaissance are trained in
First Aid and CPR.
• The response time for Metro Fire and Police is
approximately 2–3 minutes.
• In the case of evacuation, everyone will be relocated
up to 7th Avenue past the Renaissance parking garage.
