managers in the broad topic of intelligent water systems, but with a
specific emphasis on “the internet of things (IoT)”. This interactive, hands-on workshop focuses on the benefits of using
AWWA utility management standards for treatment, distribution,
source water protection, business practices, customer relations,
and emergency preparedness. Case studies of how utilities have
implemented self-assessments and peer reviews to optimize utility
operations will be highlighted.

update their risk assessments and emergency response plans.
This workshop updates how to use industry guidance to meet
requirements and brings to life the principals and details of the
newly released m19 guidance on emergency planning for water
and wastewater utilities. Together with experts in utility emergency
planning, attendees can bring existing emergency plans to evaluate
and make current or make new plans.
