section 18 Coolants Coolants A testimonial from Proformance Motorsport in WA. WHAT IS EVANS COOLANT? Evans Waterless Coolants are the ONLY 100% waterless automotive engine coolant available. All Evans Waterless Coolants are a chemical blend that results in more effi cient cooling due to a higher boiling point. The increased boiling point of the coolant eliminates the occurrence of boil over, cavitation and detonation. Not only do Evans Waterless Coolants not boil over, they do not freeze. At extreme cold temperatures the coolants contract and become extremely thick, not becoming solid and expanding like antifreeze containing water. Because Evans Waterless Coolants do not contain water electrolysis and corrosion are also eliminated. Every Evans Waterless Coolant requires the entire cooling system to be drained (radiator, engine block and heater core) and refi lled 100% with one of the Evans Waterless Coolants. No need to add anything. We have three different coolants to choose from depending on the application of your vehicle. Also available is a fl ush fl uid for smaller engines without block drains. High Performance Coolant Powersport Coolant Provides superior cooling protection for all gasoline and light duty diesel engines including marine and light aircraft, in conditions ranging from -40˚ to 375˚F. High Performance Coolant provides cooling protection through constant liquid coolant contact with engine metals. Eliminates water-causing corrosion, electrolysis and cavitation. Offers improved performance and reliability. Even under extreme conditions, Evans Powersports Coolant will not overheat. It allows the engine to be safely tuned for more power. A higher compression ratio, leaner mixture, and more advanced spark are some of the options available to the engine builder. It also provides permanent cooling protection for the life of the engine so replacement is never necessary. Its superior corrosion protection is not degraded over time and it won’t freeze or damage engine components. • One successful installation provides cooling protection for the life-time of the engine, reducing maintenance time and expense. • Perfect for all Racing and engine types using either Alloy and Cast Iron. This is the perfect choice for Motorbike and other applications that do not require 1 gallon packs. PART NO. DESCRIPTION PART NO. DESCRIPTION EVANS H/P 1 Gallon container (3.77 litres) EVANS POWER Half Gallon container (1.89 litres) Evans Prep Fluid Heavy Duty Waterless Coolant Evans Prep Fluid is a waterless cooling system fl ush designed to seek out remaining water after draining the cooling system of an engine. Evans Heavy Duty Waterless Coolant is a proprietary based fl uid with a specially formulated inhibitor package designed for heavy duty cooling system applications. Prep Fluid should be used when block drains are unavailable or cannot be removed. Designed for use in all heavy duty engines in both stationary and vehicle applications. It is not a substitute for thoroughly draining the cooling system and related components. No need to add supplemental coolant additives or pre-charge spinon fi lter. Protects in conditions ranging from -40°F to 375°F. PART NO. DESCRIPTION EVANS PREP 1 Gallon container (3.77 litres) PART NO. DESCRIPTION 5 Gallon container (20 litres) EVANS HD DIESEL 20L 5 Gallon container (20 litres) EVANS PREP 20L 178 Would your radiator boil at 6000-7000 RPM at 150-120°C? Our Race Truck slowed to a complete stop during stage 1 of a race last year. We stopped to see if the fuel pumps were running, disconnected the Radiator Fans to be able to hear the pumps and confi rmed they were indeed running. We established the fi lter was indeed blocked, fi xed that problem and ran the rest of the stage. I noticed later however that the truck engine was running MUCH HOTTER in the slow boggy sections, and the temp rose to a record high of 115°C. I then realised that we had indeed left the Cooling Fans UNPLUGGED - What a stupid mistake. Then I REMEMBERED, we are running Evans Waterless Engine Coolants, for the fi rst time. Evans Coolant has a boiling point of around 180°C and sitting at 115°C was NOT A PROBLEM. We initially wanted to use Evans Waterless Coolants to reduce the risk of being burnt by hot scalding coolant that exists when we run a radiator so close to the driver and navigator, but what a great advantage we soon realised we had. Thanks to Evans - you guys make a great product. Imagine getting a plastic bag stuck across your radiator? Or a heap of mud blocking your radiator cores, typically you have to stop or the radiator will BLOW, but with Evans, you could drive with confi dence to fi nish your race. Just what all racing drivers need! MOTORSPORT CONNECTIONS WEBSITE www.mscn.com.au EMAIL [email protected]
