Real Food Reads podcast listener around the world and our podcasts have been listened to over 22,000 times as of November 2019.    At the end of 2018, Anna Lappé passed the mic to Tanya Kerssen and Tiffani Patton, who stepped in as the new hosts of Real Food Reads. This season featured books with a focus on policy and corporate power, helping us to understand complex structural issues—like NAFTA, the Farm Bill, and Black land loss—and their impact on the lives of everyday people. Through our 2019 book selections, we also learned from the community-based movements that are decolonizing diets, sowing seeds of resilience, and reclaiming the land for marginalized food producers.  In 2019, we created a Book Club Organizing guide, added our podcast to three new platforms (for a total of five websites/apps where it can now be listened to), began an academic outreach program, and increased our social media outreach and engagement. Our monthly Real Food Reads emails—which now include a special section with articles and news from our previously featured authors who continue making waves—are opened by roughly 1,600 readers per month. 2019 BOOK SELECTIONS: 3
