The Wheel Life Blog
I have been involved in many events and opportunities since my injury in 2007. I have joined United Spinal Association and throughout the years have become a chapter leader for our Northeast Ohio Chapter. I have also participated in United Spinal Association’s Roll on Capitol Hill and Chapter Leader Meetings, Ms. Wheelchair Ohio, worked full time in two different careers, live by myself, and participated in many recreational events such as handcycling and adaptive paddling, in both a canoe and kayak.
I aim to build a community, a tribe if you will, of empowered individuals that do not let their disability define who they are. I want to break down barriers and stereotypes. I have written blog posts about time management, creating a positive mindset, redefining independence, autonomic dysreflexia, and creating monthly goals (among others). I write about anything that affects us as a person with a disability and update my website weekly. If you would like to check it out, you can do so by going to www.thewheellifeblog.com. Or, you can find me across all social media (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter) @wheellifeblog and on Snapchat @megsh8. I look forward to connecting with you and building a strong community.
