• Continue mental health support for all students and staff
• Explore the implementation of wellness centers for staff at school sites and the District
Office
• Plan the onboarding of all students in small focus groups to access wellness centers
• Assist parents throughout the year with supporting their child’s social/emotional needs
• Continue working with site administrators to develop a communication plan for when
before and after school programs are in session and an emergency occurs on a school
campus (e.g., active shooter at 2:00 p.m. when kindergarten students are already at Fun
Club)
• Create site based interdisciplinary threat assessment teams
• Create measures that will be put into place to account for COVID-19 and other potential
illnesses
• Support students and staff with continued social distancing efforts
• Increase the frequency of opportunities to partner with the LASD/SRO for training to
improve safety and security at sites
• Develop a plan for addressing safety and security within the legal parameters associated
with protected classes of students and staff, etc.
• Increase student voice, as active participants, to combat social media threats through the
strategic branding of “See Something, Say Something”
• Continue to provide more access to the educational specialists and counselors at the
elementary level to assist with the caseload of student support
• Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to learn best practices in
order to meet the needs of their special needs students (e.g., autism, socially/emotionally
challenged, gender identity, etc.)
• Install AED devices at the elementary sites and other facilities
• Continue professional development for staff regarding school and classroom safety, along
with continuing our schoolwide safety drills, to assist students and staff in their comfort
with the safety procedures
• Continue to reflect and refine our safety protocols to align with new standards and
expectations
