Area of Focus Number 4: Leadership Development at All Levels of the
Organization
Goal:
Develop and expand leadership capacity throughout and at all levels of the
organization.
Objectives:
• Continue to develop Leadership Team members within our organization
• Continue to build a cohesive and strong Leadership Team within our organization through
promotion and recruitment
• Support, collaborate, and continue to build the relationship with the new CSEA leadership
team
• Continue to work collaboratively with the WVEA leadership team
• Establish a more robust Classified Employees’ Leadership Development program
• Provide support for “new” principals
• Continue a focus on the Parent Leadership Development Seminar and training
• Explore the development of an Administrators’ Induction Program
• Continue the Aspiring Administrators’ Academy
• Continue the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council
• Explore the development of a Districtwide schedule to promote collaboration and
articulation
• Continue diversity training for all employees, and increase student and parent
participation
• Provide an increased emphasis on coaching and support for elementary learning
specialists (ELS)
Introduction:
The Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD) focus on leadership development at all
levels of the organization continued to expand and develop in its seventh year as a priority.
