Area of Focus Number 2: Strengthening Relationships
Goal:
Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships based upon trust, respect,
communication, and collaboration among colleagues, students, parents, and
community members.
Objectives:
● Build trust and respect among all stakeholders:
○ Continue Cornerstone and Salute to Teachers staff recognitions
○ Continue and augment regular District Education Center (DEC) meetings, including a
DEC “kick-off” meeting
○ Study and improve the substitute teacher assignment system
○ Continue consistent coaching for principals with feedback
○ Strengthen relationships between site administrators and leaders of the employee
associations by providing more frequent updates regarding association activities
● Improve and increase communication to effectively unite the District on our common
goals through a variety of methods:
○ Engage and educate the community regarding the District’s budget and benefits of
funding structures
○ Continue regular meetings with Coordinating Council
○ Improve advertising of regular District events for parents
○ Continue and expand support for parents, including interpretation services
○ Explore ways to improve customer experiences through the use of technology tools
such as Let’s Talk!
○ Create enrollment procedures in different languages
○ Strengthen outreach to unduplicated populations
○ Streamline communication among departments and sites
