Annual Budget Presentation Meeting
The annual budget presentation meeting will be held at the New Market Fire Hall( 76 W. Main St. New Market MD 21774) on January 4, 2018 at 7pm.
Budget Feedback
Login to your member portal to view the FY19 proposed budget & assessments and submit your budget question( s). All questions received until Jan. 3, will be compiled into a Question & Answer Sheet and posted in the member portal on Jan. 4, prior to the Annual Budget Presentation. The Q & A Sheet will also be reviewed at the Annual Budget Presentation Meeting on Jan. 4, 2018, at 7:00PM at New Market Volunteer Fire Dept.
Please review the budget and submit your questions before January 3rd. Your feedback is important!
Call for Candidates
The annual“ Call for Candidates” is occurring now for the 2018 BoD Election. If you are considering running, look on page 15 for more details.
Membership Account Maintenance
All LLA online membership accounts will be closed for scheduled maintenance Friday, January 26th thru Wednesday January 31st, 2018. Account access will reopen Thursday February 1st, 2018.
Annual Dues Payment 2018
Annual invoices will be mailed out the end of January. Those of you currently signed up for ACH monthly withdrawals; your scheduled payments will continue at the new monthly Assessment Rate beginning March 3rd, 2018. Should you ever wish to cancel monthly payments you must notify BB & T Bank. All other payment types( cash, paper check, e-check, Visa, Amex, Discover, MasterCard Credit or Debit Card) must follow the instructions accompanying your invoice. See page 20 for more details.
FY16 / 17 Audit Summary
UHY, LLP recently completed their independent audit of the Lake Linganore Association, Inc., financial statements for fiscal years March 1, 2016, ending February 29, 2016, and March 1, 2016, and ending February 28, 2017. We are happy to report LLA received a qualified opinion:“ the financial statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of Lake Linganore Association, Inc. as of February 28, 2017 and February 29, 2016 and the results of its operation and its cash flows for the years ended in conformity with the modified cash basis of accounting.” The complete audited financial statements are available on the membership portal.
Christmas Tree Pickup
Christmas tree pickup is scheduled for January 13, 2018. This is for live trees only, no artificial trees. Please remove all decorations and lights.
Holiday Decorations
Holiday decorations cannot be displayed year-round and must be removed after the holiday related to the display. Decorations include, but are not limited to, lights, inflatables, lawn ornaments or other holidayspecific décor. This winter, all holiday decorations must be removed by January 19, 2018.
Post Lamps
Now that it’ s becoming darker at an earlier time, all residents are reminded that post lamps should be lit from dusk until dawn.

It is a good time to be proactive and check smoke alarms when the weather changes. Make sure that your smoke alarms are in good working condition and see if you need to install new batteries.
