Island Highlights
Legacy Gala
Our 2018 Legacy Gala was successful on so many levels. It was a successful
fundraiser—our only one of the year—filled with fun from start to finish. Tom
Crawford brought energy and laughter to the live auction, and attendees delighted
in the array of special items in our silent auction. Dinner at the beautiful Sanctuary
Hotel was elegant and tasty. We all look forward to this special event every year and
plans are already well underway for 2019.
Naturally Kiawah Pathways
Getting to know Kiawah is easier and more fun than ever thanks to the ever-
increasing number of self-guided tours of Kiawah Island we have developed. These
easy-access tours can be downloaded through the TravelStorys app available from
the Apple Store or Google Play. We now have eight different options, each a unique
combination of interesting information and helpful guidance guaranteed to make a
walk or bike ride around the Island easier and more fun than ever.
Earth Day
The Kiawah Conservancy’s Earth Day Celebration was a great chance to see good
friends and neighbors and to learn more about our Island. Steel drum music played
as guests celebrated Kiawah’s natural beauty with presentations to charm every
age level. Charlie the Riverdog greeted fans and small hands delighted in releasing
lady bugs. Participants included the Edisto Serpentarium, the Charleston Area
Beekeepers Association, the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network, the Kiawah
Conservancy Garden Keepers, the Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol, Rosebank Farms
Farmers Market, and Brownswood Nursery.
