Table Tennis 2018
After tough competition, our lead senior team, the “Kings
of the Court” took out top spot in their division with the
“Sushi Sombreros” coming second. The coveted Secondary
Schools Table Tennis Shield resides at HNHS this year.
Team “McZhendongs” won the C grade division.
Term two marks the commencement of the HB Table
Tennis Association Interclub Competition held weekly at
Centennial Hall in Napier.
Standout players of the season were senior student Theo
Wilson and junior student Ryan Fowler; both achieving a
100% win rate for all games played.
The league runs for six weeks and encourages all levels to
come and give the game a go. It is run by volunteers who
take the time to promote, give tips, and encourage players
in the sport.
Thanks to Mr Lowry and Mrs Wilson for their organisation
of the teams throughout the season and the weekly practise
sessions held throughout the year.
HNHS always has a good contingent of enthusiast players
and entered six teams into the league consisting of the
following players:
B GRADE DIVISION:
Kings of the Court – Theo Wilson, Lochie Hulena, Sam
Miller
Sushi Sombreros – Philip Kim, Mitchell Beserra, John Liu
Yuto’s Crew 3 – Yuto Kuki, Liam Kenwright, Kein Sera
