Havelock North High School Netball 2018
are very fortunate to have so many talented and committed
volunteers who support our teams.
2018 has been another successful year for Havelock North
High School netball. We have been well represented in
Hawkes Bay netball having 11 teams entered into local
competition.
And to our students (mostly Senior A and B players) who
umpire week in, week out. Thank you! Teams would not be
able to play without you.
Schoology was used as a forum for all matters relating to
school netball. Thanks to Gabrielle Bell and Kate McKendry
for their work at the beginning of the season entering team
and player details, setting up gear bags and issuing uniforms.
Special thanks to Grace Brebner – umpiring many games
each week! Megan Swanepoel and Jahna Teinamate
also umpired regularly. Thanks also to our students who
have helped coach and umpire for our local primary and
intermediate teams.
Netball Highlights for 2018 include:
· Senior C, Junior Premier, 9A and 9B winners of their grade.
To the girls – you should be proud of your achievements this
year. As with any sport there are always the highs and the
lows. It has been great to see the way you have participated
and always shown fair play and determination. There were
many close games and many of our teams were playing
against a higher ranked team from another school.
We look forward to seeing you at netball trials in 2019!

Senior A Netball 2018
The 2018 season for the schools senior A netball team saw
several significant changes to the teams line up. With the
return of seven strong players and the selection of Zoe
Baker, Hannah O’Keefe and Libby Charlton, there was quite
a change to our teams defensive end.
Special thanks must go to the following parents, teachers
and students who have coached or managed a team.
Jamie Richardson, Sue Brebner, Nicky Johnson, Bridget
Broadhurst, Leeanne Jude, Emma Harris, Jan White, Tess
McSherry, Amanda Moys, Jan Broadley, Zharnei Adams,
Janine Rapana and Andy Curran. The time and effort they
put into practices, and on Saturdays, to develop the skills and
teamwork of HNHS netball teams is much appreciated. We
We started the season by winning all grading games to earn
our spot in the Super 12 league. With a highly successful first
round robin of pool play, we were able to score ourselves a
position in top six! After a challenging game against Wairoa
