aving to learn and
understand sports while
at it, the 23-year-old
Molebogeng Lebea knew nothing
about sports until she started
working at a community radio
station in Tembisa, Voice of
Tembisa, (VOT FM) as a sports
presenter. Molebogeng grew up in
Tembisa, but she’s originally from
Bolobedu in Limpopo. She started
working at VOT FM in December
2017 as a volunteer for sports pre-
senting, which she persisted for a
month. In March 2018, Molebogeng
was given the opportunity by VOT
FM to come and start working as a
sports presenter.
“It feels so good to be the only lady
presenting sports here at VOT FM.
I mean, when I came here I had no
idea what sports is, I only knew
about my favourite football club.
So, I had to start from the beginning,
and know the basics,” Molebogeng
explains. Although she knew nothing

about sports in the beginning,
Molebogeng didn’t find it difficult
to learn about it while working. She
further explained and says:
“To be honest, when the program
manager called me for the first time,
I told him that I know nothing about
sports, so I can’t be a sports
presenter, I want to be a news
reader. But unfortunately, there
were no posts for news reading”.
Molebogeng co-presents a
show called Sports Corner from
Mondays to Fridays at 6pm till 7pm.
With a better understanding for
sports, she prepares and writes the
sports news for her show on her
own. She believes that preparing her
own schedule builds her for the
future. When asked if she’s
passionate about sports or just doing
it for fun, her response was: “Im not
doing it for fun, I think I’m getting
there day by day. I am starting to
enjoy sports, and I feel like I’ve been
doing this for a while now. When
