and weddings became platforms for disability care and inclusion as family, friends and party guests were requested to redirect their support to ALEH’s residents. Two brides took inclusion one step further. Avia – a former National Service Volunteer at ALEH Negev – invited her ALEH friends to come to her wedding. Hodaya – whose father Reuven has been the dedicated security guard at ALEH’s Jerusalem facility for more than a decade – made sure to stop by ALEH on the day of her wedding, in all her finery, so her friends could share in her joy. > ALEH Jerusalem Celebrates 20 Years: Hundreds of people, including directors from the Ministry of Welfare and Ministry of Education, public officials, staff, family, volunteers and friends of ALEH, gathered to mark 20 years since ALEH Jerusalem was founded. After two decades, ALEH Jerusalem has grown to become a warm and loving home to over 80 individuals with multiple disabilities ranging from infancy through adulthood. The evening included awarding certificates of appreciation to volunteers and staff in appreciation of their hard work and dedication.
