Sharing Life’s Special Moments: Youngsters from all ALEH facilities marked the occasion of
their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs with a series of unique activities, festive celebrations and the warm
support of friends, staff and volunteers. Special learning aids and methods were used to enable
the children to understand and experience what it feels like to celebrate this milestone, and their
families felt pride and joy at seeing their children experience their special day. Each child had a
‘team’ comprised of social worker, cultural coordinator, teachers and enthusiastic National
Service and pre-army service volunteers, all working together to create the appropriate
atmosphere for the auspicious occasion.
In addition to the celebrations within ALEH, staff, supporters and volunteers used their own
