This scrapbook revolves around the theme of "interconnectedness." This idea can take many different forms. It can be found in anything from subway systems, roads, the internet, and friendships. The Junior Classical League has also given me this sense of interconnectedness. It is not often that an Ohioan like me gets the opportunity to make friends with someone from New Hampshire, but because of the JCL, it is not only possible, but also encouraged.
The NJCL convention theme this year also revolves around a similar idea. From Varro de Agri Cultura, this year's quote reads "Apes non sunt solitaria natura" or "Bees are not of a solitary nature." Just like bees, humans are not either. We strive to develop and are nourished by human connections and interactions, whether it's face-to-face or not.
