AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
OMA Banquet
OMA celebrated our wonderful community and recognized the outstanding achievements of student
leaders over music, dinner, and dancing. We honored six students with the OMA Leadership Awards
based on campus-wide nominations from a total of 28 nominations. Senior, Angel Gabriel was the
speaker for the evening.
The Exemplary Leadership Award (Kimberly Gonzalez) recognizes a student who demonstrates
commitment to the JHU community. This student contributes positively to the personal enrichment and
leadership of others.
The Greater Baltimore Service Award (Julia Duvall) recognizes a multicultural student who
demonstrates commitment to JHU and broader Baltimore community. This student shows their
commitment through leadership, volunteering, or contribution to a service organization.
The Chester Wickwire Diversity Award (Evelyn Yeh) recognizes an undergraduate student who
promotes multicultural understanding and harmony on the Homewood campus.
The Owens-Hall-Bilgrave Award (Khalil Rust) is named for three former African American
administrators who were strong advocates for the full participation of students of color in campus
leadership. Therefore the recipient is committed to diversity as demonstrated by ongoing mentorship
and support of students of color.
JHU OMA Student Organization of the Year Award (Indigenous Students at Hopkins) is given to
a student organization that has exemplified true leadership around the work of diversity, equity, and
