18 Heritage 365: How effective has OMA been in implementing the #Heritage365 initiative? (5- most effective; 1- least effective) Fall 2018 Spring 2019 5- 14.5% 18.2% 4- 26.9% 27.3% 3- 36.6% 38.6% 2- 15.9% 13.6% 1- 6.2% 2.3% Describe your experience(s) at the events you described were most impactful and informative. Below are some common themes in regard to the statement from fall & spring assessment: • These events felt like they truly attempted to include every kind of background so that every person can share their story and provide guidance for future endeavors. • The events attract fantastic people with whom I had great conversations about things like BLM, what the Kavanaugh appointment means for women, etc. The events themselves were fun as well, my favorite being the movie screenings. Some more South-Asian focused events would help me personally feel a bit more represented on campus as well. • I really enjoyed the Identity through art series. I came alone the first night but made sure to bring more people with me the other nights, as my friends really liked the painting I did and the conversations I told them I had with others present. The food and atmosphere were always good, and the painter always was lively. • They made me feel less alone at Hopkins. I felt like I had a community at Hopkins. • I really enjoyed hearing Mumu Fresh speak at the beginning of spring 2019. I learned a lot about her experience with Native American and Black culture and how it impacted her family. It felt like a genuine conversation and I learned the variety of ways that I can serve as an advocate. • It was wonderful to see so many people engaged in discussions surrounding their identities and I find the speaker events at the keynotes were most impactful as experts in their respective fields gave well prepared presentations that directly related to a cultural topic. • Informational and Radical • I especially enjoyed being introduced to new cultures by people who were well-immersed in the culture. Giving students space to celebrate their culture as well as educate others on their culture is something OMA has done very well. • At the semester brunch it was cool to see all the different foods from various cultures
