It Is Our Desire for Every Soul To Catch On Fire!
A Fragrant Home
Our homes will never be a perfect place. However, the atmosphere that marks the home will determine whether it is a positive happy place, a place that offers shelter from the world, a place where we can have our batteries recharged to go out again. Our homes should encourage humor, appreciation, forgiveness and a sense of belonging, where we are believed in and accepted. Creating a home with such an atmosphere of love, forgiveness, and laughter brings healing into a broken world.
As mothers we have the major responsibility of creating the atmosphere in the home. Just as we often assume the initiative in planning the decor of our homes, we also have the opportunity to determine what kind of atmosphere we want in our homes. Often we fail to realize that creating a loving atmosphere in the home takes work. It does not just happen. We must have a vision of the atmosphere we desire, goals to work toward and a plan of action. In 2 Corinthians 2:14-16, Paul refers to us as a“ fragrance” through whom GOD will manifest the“ sweet aroma” of Himself in every place. How wonderful it would be if the“ sweet aroma” of GOD Himself would permeate our homes! What sweet joy and peace would then characterize our homes.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
2 Corinthians 2:14( NIV)
It Couldn’ t Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn ' t be done, But he with a chuckle replied That maybe it couldn ' t, but he would be one Who wouldn ' t say so " till he tried." So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin on his face. If he worried, he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn ' t be done, and he did it. Somebody scoffed: " Oh, you ' ll never do that; At least no one ever has done it." But he took off his coat and took off his hat And the first thing he knew he ' d begun it. With the lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn ' t be done, and he did it. There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure; There are thousands to point out to you, one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you. But just buckle right in with a bit of a grin, Then take off your coat and go to it; Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing That cannot be done, and you ' ll do it.
