Born in Germany as Robert
Zollitsch, composer Lao Luo
first came to China in 1993,
studying the Chinese zither Qin
at the Shanghai Conservatory of
Music. After more than 20 years
of dedication to Chinese music
Lao now is not only accepted
by the Chinese music scene,
but recognized as one of the
driving energies of China’s New
Art Music. Nathan Wang joined and was
trained in the Australian Regular
Army at Australian Defence Force
Academy between 1987—89.
Graduating from Macquarie
University in Sydney, Australia
with BecLLB, Nathan is a
practicing solicitor in Australia.
Between 1996 and 2012 Nathan
worked as a Manager at Jardine
Fleming Securities Hong Kong,
as an Executive Director in
the International Equity Sales
department of Morgan Stanley, an
Executive Director in the Global
Wealth Management department
of Morgan Stanley and in the
Ultra High Net Worth Wealth
Management Department of UBS
AG. Nathan assumed the position
of General Manager of Yunnan
Yang Liping Arts & Culture Co. Ltd
and led the company to list on
the Beijing Stock Exchange (stock
code 831239). Farooq Chaudhry, co-founder
and Producer of Akram Khan
Company, plays a key role in
forming innovative business
models to support Akram
Khan’s artistic ambitions as
well as offering creative support
during the development of
Khan’s projects. Farooq is a
witness of the School for Social
Entrepreneurs and on the
advisory board of Global Future.
The French Ministry of Foreign
Affairs acknowledged Farooq in
a list of the world’s top hundred
cultural actors and entrepreneurs
in 2008. In addition to work for
Akram Khan Company, Farooq
has been International Creative
Producer for China’s national
dance icon Yang Liping since
2016 and was Producer for
English National Ballet 2013—17.
Farooq was awarded an honorary
doctorate from De Montfort
University for services to dance
in 2014.
