A SUMMARY OF THE SECOND MISSION TRIP
John 5: 4 says,“ For everyone who has been born of
1 God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.”
Despite all the destruction left behind by the torrential rains and floods across Peru, God’ s Kingdom will be victorious and He used the second short term mission trip to bring restoration to His people in Piura.
PIURA
The missionaries made their first stop in Piura where the prior team reconstructed a church building. The landscape was littered with refugee camps as the number of families in need increased and government support waned. local high school, HHK WMC was able to organize and provide school supplies for all the children in the refugee camps. Over 650 children gathered in the school yard where they received notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, and some snacks.
Afterwards, the team quickly packed up and traveled to a refugee camp where they distributed food baskets to over 500 families in need. These baskets were filled with everyday necessities and pantry items. Prices of goods in the local area were on the rise as demand rose and supply declined. But with these baskets, the families were relieved of their heavy financial burdens. Piura is still hurting from the floods that ravaged their homes, but their faith and hope has been restored in God.
For some of these families, the refugee tent over their heads was now their new home. Hope was diminishing. Piura was hungry, both physically and spiritually.
The team’ s first objective was to provide for the children. School had started and many children did not have basic school supplies as many families lost all their belongings in the floods. Working through a

After a few days in Piura, the team traveled to Lima where they attended the ABBA youth conference. This spirit filled conference was attended by over 1,000 participants.
