Durante esas épocas, cuando no se tenía más que las ganas y el amor por la raza, nos íbamos con mi esposa Patty en mi pickup a ver los concursos. Para lograr ajustar el presupuesto, recuerdo que llevábamos una hielera para elaborarnos ricos sándwiches y bocas para no tener que almorzar ni cenar afuera, y así, evitar gastos adicionales.
Después, con los años y las oportunidades que me ha dado la vida, con mucho trabajo fui creciendo como criador.
¿ De dónde nace la idea de llevar a cabo el concurso y de crear el Centro de Exposiciones?
El sueño del Centro de Exposiciones nace en 1986; luego de haber comprado los primeros caballos, empezamos a construir las primeras 12 cuadras. En ese momento comencé a tener la visión y a identificar que a mi país le hacía falta instalaciones y complejos que le permitiera a los amantes del deporte hípico practicarlo de forma adecuada y profesional.
Cada oportunidad que tenía de viajar, visitaba instalaciones ecuestres; siempre estuvo dentro de mis intereses. En el año del 2016 se tomó la decisión de hacer el sueño realidad inaugurándose en febrero del 2017 con el Concurso Centroamericano de Caballos Peruanos de Paso.
¿ A qué se debe el éxito del criadero Rancho Doña Patty?
Mucho estudio, dedicación y conversación. Lo primero que hice para entender al caballo peruano fue leerme el libro del Tratado de Ascásubi.
El éxito de la crianza yace en estar y seguir platicando sobre el caballo. Comencé a diseñar la crianza durante ily. During those times, when we did not have more than the desire and the love for the breed, we went with my wife Patty in my red pickup to see the tournaments. In order to adjust to our budget, I remember that we had a cooler filled with ingredients to make delicious sandwiches and burritos so that we could save up eating lunch or dinner outside and avoid unnecessary expenses.
Over the years, with the opportunities that life has given me, and with a lot of work, we began growing as breeders.
Where did the idea of hosting the contest and creating the Exhibition Center come from?
The dream of the Exhibition Center was born in 1986; after buying the first horses, we began to build the first 12 blocks. There, I started to have the idea and saw that my country lacked facilities and complexes that could allow lovers of equestrian sports to practice them properly and professionally.
Every opportunity I had to travel, I visited equestrian facilities; it was always within my interests. In 2016 we made the decision to make the dream come true and it was inaugurated in February 2017 with the Central American Peruvian Paso Fino Horse Competition. Where does the success of Rancho Doña Patty come from? A lot of study, dedication, and conversation. The first thing I did to understand the Peruvian horse was to read the book of the Treaty of Ascásubi.
