Did You Know?
Texas ranks number 1 in the nation for child pool drownings. Tarrant County is ranked second in the
state. Locally, seventy-five percent of drownings and near-drowning incidents happen in pools, with
children 4 years old or under. Active adult supervision and layers of protection, such as swim lessons and
a fence around the pool itself, can lower the risk for your child.
