Safety Spotlight Tips for a Safe 4th July 2017 Each year many of us gather to celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends. The 4th represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. We want the day to be a day of celebration, but more importantly a SAFE celebration. Here are few reminders about protecting your family from mosquitos. In addition, we want to remind residents that fireworks are prohibited in the City of Southlake. If you want to see a great fireworks show, please join us at Stars & Stripes at Southlake Town Square on July 3rd. Instead, we invite everyone to join us for Southlake’s annual Stars and Stripes celebration on July 3rd in Town Square. We want to provide a safe environment for kids and their families to enjoy the holiday. The best way to have fun and play it safe is to leave the fireworks to the professionals. The Southlake Fire Department wants to remind residents that possessing or using fireworks in the City of Southlake is illegal. Individuals in possession of fireworks will have them confiscated, and a citation may be issued. The fines for possessing or using fireworks within the Southlake City limits can be as high as $2,000.
