Elementary Students Sing At Christmas Concert

The Elementary Christmas concert, "Music Has Brought Us Together," under the direction of Rachelle Stephens, was held at the Burke gym on December 1.

The concert started with the singing of a "Festive Processional" and "Jingle Bells" by grades 1-5. Next they went to Begindergarten and Kindergarten, then the First Grade, both singing four songs. Second Grade went third singing four songs, one including "The Sounds of Santa's Workshop,"including elves Emily Diekmann, Emerson Swan, Maddox Mayer, and Taylor Zeisler.

Fifth Grade Band went next performing the songs "Jingle Bells," "My Dreydl,"and "Mozart Melody." Third Grade Choir was next singing two songs, and Fourth Grade sang two songs. One song included "Masters In This Hall" with soloists Morgan Tietgen, Reece Brambaugh, Leo Mosterd, and Jader Schonebaum. Ending the concert was Fifth Grade singing two songs.

Seven Students Attend Winner Scrubs Camp

Scrubs Camp are one day, hands-on oppurtunites, which provide education and information on different health care careers. Scrubs Camp was held in Winner on December 1.

Seven students from the Burke High School attended: Teah Serr, Emily Stukel, Sierra Swan, Lainee Schonebaum, Anna Peterson, Lacey Person, and Alison Hoffman.

All students got to attend sessions that included irrigating and stapling lacerations, TB skin testing and IM injections, and hear about the Stop the Bleed program.

In the afternoon the students attended three more sessions. Vital signs and gait belt transfers, physical/occupational therapy, and blood bank and microbiology.

"It was a good experience and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to go into the medical field," stated Lacey Person.
