A row of bricks are laid. They are then leveled and made flush. A slather of mortar, and then another row of bricks is added.
In a couple of days, a foundation is established. Another few weeks, walls are seen. A roof is added soon after. Now, nine months later, an almost completed orphanage building stands as a symbol of HHK WMC’ s first milestone in the land of India!
This accomplishment was constructed by following God’ s blueprints. It was God who first implanted a vision for the Hanhee Kim World Mission Center to expand its borders across the Pacific Ocean and into the land of India. Although we had no idea why God directed us there or how we could even start, we fervently remained faithful that God would open doors. As stated in the previous magazine, Pastor James Lee and Pastor Samuel Abraham were brought together by Abba Father’ s wonderful will.
In his tiny home, Pastor Abraham had been housing twenty-eight orphans with his young wife. There was not enough space to situate all the children so many of them needed to sleep on the floor. He started to build an orphanage and it completely drained everything he had. Unfortunately, his funds ran out even before he was able to finish the foundation of the orphanage. Although the contact was initially made for a petition for a prayer support, both pastors felt God was going to build an everlasting bridge between them. Many nights of prayer followed. Now, as the orphanage is finishing up, the twenty eight orphans will have a place to call home. And in the meanwhile, HHK WMC is preparing for the next phase in God’ s plan.
India is home to over 1.2 billion people with only about 2.3 % Christians. The majority of India’ s Christian population calls East Godavari District their home as it is one of the most religious tolerant regions. The streets are lined with churches and temples, Christians and Hindus live together peacefully and Christians are allowed to share the Gospel. But the rest of India, especially the North western region, is hostile towards Christians. Within the first six weeks of 2016 there were a reported ten cases of physical violence against Christians or Christian churches.
In light of these events, we are not afraid to follow the Holy Spirit into India. Just as our God delivered His people into the Promised Land with His power and glory, we know that our God will do the same for us. As the bricks are being laid down row by row at the orphanage, our God is clearing out the debris, leveling the terrain and repairing the bridges for us. And when He is finished with this task, He will open up the road for HHK WMC straight to India! Let’ s all go to India together! www. coj. org 11
